We again welcome Luke Tegtmeier as our guest organist Sunday, August 13, 2017. Luke studied at Valparaiso University and Luther Seminary. He now works at Muller Pipe Organ Company in Hartford, Ohio, and lives in Columbus with his wife, Kate.
Reduced Office Hours: A volunteer will be in the office from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon, Mon. Aug. 14th-Thurs. Aug. 17th. Thank you to those who volunteered!
VOICE Deadline: If you have an article you would like to submit, please turn it into our Newsletter Editor Susan Mykrantz by the 15th of every month. September’s VOICE deadline is this Tuesday, August 15, 2017.
‘God’s Work. Our Hands’: T-shirt order deadline is also Tuesday, August 15th and are available through Old Luther online at: https://oldlutheran.com/products/gods-work-our-hands-t-shirt.
Blessing of Backpacks: will be Sunday, August 20th during our 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services. All students and teachers are invited to bring their backpacks, school bags, lunch boxes, laptops etc.
Youth Ministry News: Beginning Sunday, August 20th we will have a Faith Formation Event for children at 9:30 a.m. Please contact Courtney Nolt and the church office to

Ringers and Singers Needed! Need to get out of the house? Want a good way to forget about the workday? Trying to keep your brain in shape? Music can work wonders! Both of our adult ensembles rehearse weekly on Thursday evenings – Bell choir at 6 p.m. and Choir at 7 p.m. – to prepare for 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship services. We work hard, but have a good time accomplishing our task, and the rewards are worth every minute. Talk to Jeffrey and Daphne Dexter to become involved or email email@example.com.
Bereavement Meeting: Does your heart ache for a lost loved one? Please join Pastor Ann on Wednesday, August 30th at 7:00 p.m. as she shares some comforting information with our bereaved, over cakes and tea. You may share your story, or just listen, and be comforted by knowing you are not alone. If interested in gathering a group on a regular basis, please let us know!
Social Ministry: We are just $863.73 shy of our $5,000.00 goal for the Habitat for Humanity Ecumenical Build! Stop by the glass display case outside the church office to see what they are all about. Their Church Relations Committee did a great job. We then ask that you prayerfully consider donating to this cause. Envelopes are available in Rooms 100 & 200.

This will be our ‘Gods Work. Our Hands.’ Sunday. We will be working at the Wayne County Fair. See the VOICE and Martha Junkin for more info. Volunteer sign-up sheets are in Rooms 100 & 200. The church has also bought 10 more volunteer shirts!
